An artist residency program and education nonprofit in Southwestern Vermont

Media Hour is a Vermont based nonprofit that seeks to foster media literacy and support the production of video and media works by artists, writers and non-artists interested in video production. We also host and program art exhibitions and are developing an online forum where contributors from a variety of fields speak about their perspective on contemporary media.

Media Hour currently invites artists to reside at the Media Hour studio in Sunderland VT for two weeks to produce a television program that airs on local public access television. Each resident creates one television show, with the technical and educational support of our facility, equipment and production planning. The programs become part of a TV series and Media Hour archive that will air around the state, be exhibited in an art context, and also will be hosted at Media Hour for yearly public screening series. The idea is to bring increased artistic content to public television around the state, and to engage residents - some of whom will not have prior video experience - in media production. Starting summer 2022, residents will be chosen through a juried application process.

Our Director, Chelsea Knight, is an artist and educator living in Vermont.

Our Director of Programs and Exhibitions, Zacry Spears, is an artist living in NYC and Vermont.

We will be accepting submissions to our residency starting Spring 2022.
