SXR GRIPP is a multi-hyphenate creator based primarily on the internet. Their work is multimedia and interdisciplinary, ranging from written word to performance art to electronic installation. They are a longtime playwright, screenwriter, poet, wrapper, storyteller, musician, and producer. They boast film festival acceptances at the Roxbury International Film Festival. Hemet Film Festival, and Grrl Haus Cinema. Their screenplays have been laureled by the International Screenwriter's Association, the SUNYWide Film Festival, and Bolt by Barnstorm, as well as published as a collection titled The Fainting Game (and Other Stories) (Game Over Books, 2020). They also boast publications by Button Poetry, Brazos River Review, Jelly Bucket, Impostor Magazine, Everyday Feminism, and in the depression-themed anthology Light as a Feather. In 2019, gripp co-wrote and -produced the 3-show debut run of the afrofuturistic stageplay Spirit with grant funds from The Boston Foundation. gripp has also received accolades onstage as a performance poet, a rapper, and a stage actor. Much of gripp's work is dystopian, surreal, and absurdist. It confronts race, gender, mental imbalance, loneliness, existential dread, and frequently robots. In their spare time, they enjoy board games, avoiding attention, and writing biographies in the third person.
